I decided to make a post sharing my all time favourite chocolate chip cookie recipe – they’re chewy, chocolatey and delicious. I was basically brought up on chocolate chip cookies. My mum baked them all the time when I was growing up, and she would always save me some of the mixture for me to have when I got home from school – the best after school treat!

Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 7 minutes
Servings: 28-36 cookies
Ingredients
- 227g butter
- 320g brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 360g plain flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 280g chocolate chips
Method
- Preheat oven to 190 degrees celsius on bake
- Melt the butter until just melted
- Add brown sugar and mix
- Let stand for 5 minutes
- Add egg, egg yolk, vanilla and stir to combine
- Add flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir until just combined
- Stir in chocolate chips
- Roll dough into balls and place on lined baking sheets
- Bake for 6-8 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are golden brown
- Leave cookies to set until cool, and enjoy.
To make double chocolate cookies, half dry and wet mixture into two, remove 30g of flour from one, and replace with 30g of cocoa powder.
These cookies are so easy to make, and one of my favourite things to bake.
Let me know if you give them a try!
